Nipa Huts are available for around P500 or less, though facilities are pretty basic. You will be provided with an electric fan and a mosquito net, but there is usually no hot water (updated by Sirenna on Oct 26, 2005, in VirtualTourist).

Family-owned Frendz Resort Boracay has one of the best beach locations in Boracay. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. It is barely a two minute stroll to the beautiful white sand of the famous White Beach and located central to the many restaurants and bars, and great shopping. The resort consists of native bungalows, all with cable TV, private western style bathrooms and set in lush tropical gardens.

Spent 9 weeks in the phils this past summer and this was by far my favorite place to stay. i came thinking i would stay here a couple nights and find somewhere else to stay...WRONG. great atmosphere. they say it's a 2 minute walk to the beach, but it may be less than that. great staff, better than okay food (plus, once a week they also have a big meal for everyone in the hostel to meet and socialize), free internet, the showers were decent (especially when compared to other places i stayed).

My friends and I got 2 rooms and stayed for 4 nights. Richel offered us a very good deal for their off season rates. The rooms were clean and the staff giving you a fresh towel everyday. What I like about this place because of their high speed WiFi so every time I got time to relax specially when its raining I just open my mini laptop and so I can start talking with my family and friends back home. All the staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and know all the best deals for trips and island tour. Just ask them specially Richel and Jun, the manager. This is a real gem! I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends at work.

Mabinis Place Boracay have little beach-hut style cottages at the southern end of the island. The facilities are pretty basic, but the view makes up for it - they are really close to the sea, and on a nice quiet part of the beach. There is also pretty good snorkeling in this area. You can haggle with them about the price. They would quote P1000 per night, but you could reduce that a bit. They also offer discounts for long term stay.
