| Mabinis Place Boracay have little beach-hut style cottages at the southern end of the island. The facilities are pretty basic, but the view makes up for it - they are really close to the sea, and on a nice quiet part of the beach. There is also pretty good snorkeling in this area. You can haggle with them about the price. I was quoted P1000 per night, but I'm sure you could reduce that a bit. They also offer discounts for long term stay. | |
Unique Qualities: The cottages are native style made of bamboo and nipa (used to thatch the roof) and elevated on stilts. As far as I know there is no hot water, although in the summer this is not a problem. There is an assortment of funky little beach bars in this area, and some nice restaurants. This is a good place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds.
Theme: Other Comparison: less expensive than average Prices: Less than US$20 Address: Angol, White Beach (5 minutes walk south of boat station 3). Directions: When you reach Red Pirates Pub, the pathway ends. Walk onto the beach and its just a few meters away next to Sundown restaurant.
