Manila to Caticlan
MBRS Lines operates two passenger ferries between Manila and Caticlan, three times a week, alternating between the M/V Virgin Mary and the M/V Mary the Queen.
These two boats leave Manila at 5pm and arrive in Caticlan early the following morning. The trip to Caticlan via Odiongan in Tablas Island takes around 13 hours.
A ticket for a bunk in an air-conditioned dormitory costs PhP850, while a bunk space in a four-bunk cabin costs PhP1,200. Both ships have cafeterias, karaoke and a late-night disco.
A word of warning: Although ferry fares are relatively inexpensive, this route is NOT recommended!
Aside from the limited trips available, the place where you board the ferries (Pier 6 and Pier 8) at the North Harbor in Tondo, Manila, is considered unsafe for travelers, even for locals and more so for foreigners.
Avail yourself of this travel option at your own risk, and take the necessary precautions.
