Sirenna of Boracay

Sirenna of Boracay
Some of the Best Sunsets in the World!

Our friend Sirenna is a local resident of Boracay Island. She's been a permanent member of the Boracay community ever since she decided to stay there for good in 1998 when she first went to Boracay to visit some friends. This page was partly reproduced from her home page at VirtualTourist where she has contributed the most number of pages about Boracay Island.

Island Life by sirenna

"If we go on as we are, we will destroy in the next century everything that the poets have been singing about for the past two thousand years."
Fred Bodsworth.

I've been living here in Boracay for a few years now, and I'd like to share some of my experiences of life on the island. Unfortunately many of the guide-books and websites contain inaccurate information about Boracay, so I'll try to be as up-to-date as possible. I originally came here to visit some friends for a few months, but fell in love with the place (and a local guy) and ended up moving here permanently!

Puka Shell Beach In Boracay

Take a boat trip around the island and you'll discover many beautiful beaches. Bring a picnic and spend the day lazing in the sunshine, swimming, snorkeling or just enjoying the peace and quiet. There's a common misconception that Boracay is spoilt and over-developed, and that is certainly true of White Beach, but as you can see from this picture, there are still plenty of unspoiled places left.

View of Boracay From the Air

Boracay Island is about 7 km's long, and shaped a bit like a bone. Its narrowest point in the center. It boasts many beautiful beaches, of which White Beach is the most popular (and developed). The most peaceful part of White Beach is at the southern end, in the area known as Angol.

Tell Us About Your Boracay Holidays

This website is NOT just our website, it is yours too...

How about that special nightclub or disco bar where you and your family or friends were entertained in, or that special restaurant that you dined in while in Boracay. Don't you think that travelers should also know about them?

Whatever it was that made you enjoy (or dread, ugh!) your vacation in Boracay is something worth telling about. Would you like to write about it and share your story with other travelers? Tell us what it was that you liked — or disliked — about this hotel, nightclub, disco or restaurant.

If you are a Boracay hotel, disco, restaurant or shop or service owner yourself and would like to write up a page about your special gem, please do so (you can upload your favorite photos as well). You're most welcome. »» Click here to start.
